Some repairs are just repairs. And then some remind you why you do this job.
Today I drove over to York to fix Phil’s iPhone 11 Pro Max at his bakery — and honestly it was one of those visits that puts a proper smile on your face.
Phil’s been a customer for ten years. TEN. We actually first met when I did a callout for him back in the day, so today felt like a full circle moment — back on the road to York, same guy, same trust. That means everything.
The phone had been cracked for a while but one final drop finished it off completely. Thirty minutes later — new screen, good as new. Then another nineteen minutes of catching up properly, which honestly might be the best part of the job.
Phil being Phil, he wasn’t going to let me leave empty handed. Flat white, fresh bread, olive bread, and pain au chocolat that I may or may not have eaten before I got home. The man knows me too well.
What I love about this — Phil has businesses much closer to him than Market Weighton. He could use anyone. But for ten years, for himself and his family, he still picks up the phone to me. I don’t take that lightly.
